Schmutz Wednesday

The only reason I ever know that it is Ash Wednesday each year is that I see someone fresh from church and get the urge to walk up to them, lick my thumb, and say "Oh, hold still, you have some schmutz on your forehead" as I proceed to wipe it off.

First time I ever saw those ash Wednesday dots was when I worked in Walmart a couple years ago... lol It always seemed weird.

I just listened to the podcast of Wednesday's Penn Jillette Radio show on Free FM, and apparently he calls Ash Wednesday "Chiquita Banana Wednesday." He encourages people, atheists mostly I suppose, to wear Chiquita Banana stickers on their foreheads to make fun of the Catholics. I with I had heard of this earlier!

I walked into class the other day and here was a girl with it smeared all over her forehead. It wasn't a simple "dot" - it was smeared. I bit my tongue hard to avoid laughing outright at her.

To make fun of Catholics? Hmm, that's nice. So what day do you guys make fun of Jews?
